Backup for Workgroups - Premium Upgrade

You will need to purchase a Premium Upgrade License to use new features if:

1. you purchased Backup for Workgroups before October 2006
2. your License Numbers begin with any of the following:  BW100, BW140, BW200, BW210, BW220, BW250
   (license numbers can be found under the Data Repository Manager > Tools > License menu...)

If you purchased Backup for Workgroups after 2006 and do not have any License Numbers that match the above format, then you can just download and install the newest Backup for Workgroups 4.4 setup file for no charge.

License Numbers that support Premium Features begin with:  BW300, BW400, BW410.

Customers who purchased Backup for Workgroups after October 2006 already have the Premium Features and do not need to purchase any sort of Upgrade License. 

In October 2006, new "Premium" features were added to Backup for Workgroups.  These Premium features include:

• Daily Backup Summary E-mails and Storage Event E-Mails
• E-Mail Server authentication
• 256-bit AES Encryption
• Drive spanning support for Primary Storage Group and Mirror Storage Group
• Auto Client updates

Instructions on How to Upgrade Your Backup for Workgroups Installation to Version 4.4:

Standard Update (Free):  Download and install the new 4.4 version to update your installation with existing feature enhancements and overall performance improvements.  You will not receive any new License Numbers. Your existing License Numbers will continue to be valid and the software will continue to operate as normal, but you will not have access to any of the Premium Features listed at the top of this page.

Premium Upgrade (Fee-Based):  Download and install the new 4.4 version to update your installation software.  Place your Premium Upgrade order.  After your order is processed, you will receive a new License Number that you enter into your Data Repository Manager to unlock the Premium features.

There is only ONE setup program to download.  It does not matter if you go with the Standard Update or the Premium Upgrade, you install the same software in either case.  You will need to download the new BFW Setup Program, and use this Setup program to update your Data Repository first, and then use it again to update all your Backup Clients.  You will not need to re-boot your system at any point during the updating process.
