Backup for Workgroups - Support - Backup Fails to Complete
When Backup for Workgroups performs the backup process it stores information
about the files that are backed up in a set of database files. These
database files are held at both the Backup Server and at the Backup
Client.
When there is a problem with a database file, Backup for Workgroups has a
built-in repair facility that you can use to rebuild the database file.
The process to repair the database files is based on the error reported during
the backup process.
If you receive any of the following error messages, then you will need to
perform the repair process at the Backup Server:
- The Backup Server cannot write to its database files
- The Backup Server shuts down during the backup
- The Backup Client reports the Backup was Interrupted
If you receive any of the following error messages, then you will need to
perform the repair process at the Backup Client:
- The Backup Client cannot access its local files
- The Backup Client shuts down during the backup Process
To repair the database files at the Backup Server
- Run the Backup for Workgroups User Interface

- In the upper half of the panel, in the section labeled "Database
Verifier", press the "Run Now" button.

- Go to the Status screen to view the results of the verifier.
- If the verifier finds any problems, it will rebuild the database files from
log files.
