Backup for Workgroups is sold on a per-Client basis, which means that you need to purchase a Client License for each Windows
server, desktop or laptop you wish to backup. Add-On products are also sold on a per-Client basis. Quantity discounts on Client Licenses and Open File Add-On Licenses: the more you purchase, the less the price per License!
Example: to backup (2) different Windows 2003 Servers, then (2) Client Licenses and (2) Open File Add-On Licenses
should be purchased. The Data Repository software and license comes free of charge with every purchase.

Many offices have a Windows XP computer (or Vista, for
those brave souls that bought one...)
hosting a database or two, such as QuickBooks or Peachtree. Even if it is just a file
server, this configuration
will make sure all data is backed up.
Windows 2000 running Exchange Server:
1 Client + 1 Open File Add-On
If you are running your Exchange Server on Windows 2000, there is no Volume Shadow Service feature
present, so the
Add-On will go through the Windows API to access and backup the Active Directory and
Exchange database / log file
information only. No other open files will be included in the backup, but
these important databases will
be covered.
Windows 2000 running SQL:
1 Client (use the Stop/Start Services feature to perform the backup of SQL)
Windows NT running Exchange Server 5.5 (we know there are still some of these out there!):
